As reported in the Daily Mail on 10th April 2019 (www.thisismoney.co.uk), the insurance company “MORE THAN” will be refunding thousands of the car insurance clients after having incorrectly charged them for the cost of printing and posting their insurance documents.
All insurance companies are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and their rules clearly state that although firms can provide the required documents and information in various ways, where a client requests a paper copy this must be provided free of charge.
Clients also need to be aware that most of the biggest insurance companies will charge a fee for changes to policies after they have begun. Alterations such as change of vehicle, change of address and additional drivers can attract a fee as much as £25 if made over the telephone, whereas this is often free of charge if they are made on-line.
Needless to say, as an independent Insurance Broker in Broadstone, J.L. Morris does not charge fees for printing, posting or amending your policies.
